This is the largest World Bank-aided port construction project undertaken in India introducing the most modern concepts of handling bulk and containerised Cargo. The port, designed initially to handle around 3 million tonnes of bulk cargo and around 250,000 TEU containerised cargo, is planned to cater to the increase in quantum of throughput by suitably augmenting facilities in a phased manner.

The entire Port Operation, equipment control, material handling and despatch is fully automated and computer-controlled.

HOWE’s scope of services included basic conceptual planning, Detailed Project Report, Model Studies, Detailed Design of all aspects of the Project, Tendering as per World – Bank norms, Project Management, Construction Supervision and Commissioning of all facilities.
