Development of Multipurpose Terminal at Hazira

Adani Hazira Port Private Limited (AHPPL) is developing bulk and general cargo handling facilities at Hazira Port in Gujarat on the west coast of India under sub-concession with Hazira Port Private Limited (HPPL). AHPPL has completed construction of 5 berths (2 container berths and 3 multipurpose berths) under Phase-I of the project. The cargo handling capacity under Phase-I is 35 MMTPA. AHPPL is planning to build total of 13 berths at Hazira port for handling general cargo, container and liquids which will increase its capacity to 84 MT per annum. The port started its operations in the 2012.
HOWE has worked on this project from its RFP stage. It has provided technical bid advisory services to Adani Ports for its bid submission to Shell Hazira. After securing the bid, Adani group delegated responsibility of project management consultancy to HOWE. The broad scope of HOWE includes from planning, engineering, estimation, commercial aspects, quality, construction supervision at site etc.
Salient Features
- 5 berths (2 container & 3 multipurpose) – deep draft berths capable of handling Panamax vessels.
- Length of approach channel is 1200 meters & turning circle is 600 meters

- 130000 sq. mtrs of well demarcated open storage yard for minerals, project cargo, scrap, clinker, etc.
- 250m x 45m closed godown for storage of various cargoes viz. fertilizers, fertilizer raw materials (FRM), DOC, wheat, rice, sugar, etc.
