Development of Multi Commodity Dry Bulk Terminal at Tuna

Adani Kandla Bulk Terminal Private Limited (AKBTPL) has signed concession agreement with the Kandla Port Trust to develop bulk terminal at Kandla. The dry bulk terminal will be located off Tekra near Tuna outside Kandla creek port on the west coast of India. The terminal will have a capacity to handle 20 million MT of cargo. It will handle cargo like coal, fertilizer, salt, minerals and other agri-products.

PMC Projects has worked on this PPP project from its RFP stage. PMC has provided technical bid advisory services to Adani ports for its bid submission to authority. After winning of bid from authority, Adani group delegated the responsibility of project management consultancy to PMC Projects for this project. The broad scope of PMC includes from planning, engineering, estimation, commercial aspects, quality, construction supervision at site etc.

Salient Features

This will be a mechanized terminal having

  • Four berth consists of 600 m x 60 m berthing structure to handle 2 vessels of 1,00,000 DWT in-front of jetty head and 2 vessels each of 75,000 DWT in rear side of jetty
  • Approx. 10 kms of conveyor network : high speed conveying system with 3200 TPH for each stream runs at speed of 8 m/s
  • 4 mobile harbour cranes , & 4 mobile hoppers
  • 80 Ha of back yard area for stacking of Cargo
  • Storage godown for 1,00,000 MT cargo
  • Mechanized bagging units
