Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) is a deep all weather port with modern fully mechanised cargo handling facilities. To assist in planning and implementation of phase 2 expansion of the port to increase port capacity by 20 MTPA, GPL appointed M/s Howe (India) Pvt. Ltd. (HOWE) for the Planning, Engineering & Project Management Services.

The services provided by HOWE are as follows:

• Preparation of layout of the additional port facilities comprising of 3 multipurpose berths (including one berth designed for containers) and one coal berth with unloaders, conveyor system, new stackyard with machinery for storage and evacuation, capital dredging, railways, storage sheds, power distribution and control systems
• Basic engineering with cost estimates
• Preparation of various tender packages and Assistance to client in negotiations and contracts award on EPC basis
• Detailed Review of the submissions of the EPC contractors to ensure compliance with the contract.
• Progress review meetings with the vendors/suppliers/contractor/sub-contractors.
• Project management services during implementation comprising addressing site queries, progress monitoring, bill certifications, inspection and QA/QC.
