Design, Engineering And Consultancy Services For Japee Gujrat Cement Plant’s Proposed Captive Jetty Facilities (CJF)

Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) has planned to expand its cement manufacturing capacity, thereby setting up a large cement manufacturing complex in Kutch, Gujarat. JAL propose to construct and commission a captive jetty along with associated facilities in Kharo Creek for which it appointed M/s HOWE India Pvt Ltd. (HIPL) as consultants.
The captive jetty facilities have been built for import of 0.8 MTPA coal and export of 1.0 MTPA cement and 2.0 MTPA clinkers through barges of size limited to 3000 DWT. Fully mechanised system for loading and unloading of cargo has been provided.
The services provided by HIPL are as follows.
- Data collection from client & review of previous studies / reports.
- Development of layout for the loading and unloading of cargo at the captive jetty facility.
- Design of suitable barges & arrangement for handling & re handling of cargo.
- Basic Engineering of the scheme.
- Detailed Engineering of the captive jetties & associated infrastructure facilities
- Material handling Facility Design & Detailing according to tender packages.
- Electrical engineering, communication, control & instrumentation System Design and detailing according to tender packages.
- Assist the client in negotiations, contract award and preparation of contract agreement as required.
- Assist the client in obtaining all necessary statutory clearances/ approval and ensure providing infrastructure as required for fulfilling the conditions.
- Review the submissions of the contractors/sub-contractors to ensure compliance with the contract and project requirements.
- Day to day supervision of construction at site.
- Supervision of the quality of material and workmanship.
- Ensure complete coordination, cost and time control.
- Progress review meetings with the vendors/suppliers/contractor/sub-contractors.
- Planning, carrying out and ensuring satisfactory completion of the commissioning tests and performance guarantee tests.
- Visit Premises of vendors/suppliers/contractor/sub-contractors, carryout or witness inspection/Tests, prepare inspection certificates and authorize dispatch.
