The new Krishnapatnam Port on the east coast of India is a Greenfield project. HOWE are the engineers and project managers for all aspects. In Phase I, the port will handle more than 12 mtpa of bulk materials like ore and coal as well as 1.5 mtpa of general cargo in ship sizes of up to 65,000 DWT. In Phase II the ship sizes will reach 200,000 DWT. The Master Plan provides for Containers, P.O.L., and Ship Building and Repair facilities. |

The Greenfield port at Jaigarh on the west coast of India is being designed and project managed by HOWE for JSW Infrastructure & Logistics Ltd. of the JINDAL Group. Seven berths (2000+ meters) with a back-up area of 34 hectares. Initially a Coal Import Terminal to supply a nearby thermal power plant, with a Container Terminal, Petrochemical and other Liquids handling facility, and multipurpose cargo handling in stages. The initial dredged depth will be –14.3m, to be deepened to –18.9m . |

The photo shows the 337m long product loading jetty originally designed by HOWE for max. 100,000 DWT ships for the Vadinar refinery for ESSAR PROJECTS LTD. The design by HOWE of three additional berths of comparable sizes is currently underway . |

The new Chettinad International Coal Terminal located in the Ennore Port is being engineered and project managed by HOWE to import 8 mtpa of coal with a berth to receive ships of up to 150,000 DWT. It will have a rated unloading capacity of 3500 TPH, with an inbuilt speed control system to cater for different types of coal. The design incorporates in-motion rail car loading and weighing, batch loading of trucks. All utilities and infrastructure facilities for a fully operational terminal are provided. The Client, Chettinad International Coal Terminal Private Limited, are developing and operating this multi-user facility under a B.O.T. contract with the Ennore Port Trust. |

HOWE are preparing the detailed designs and specifications for the civil and electrical works for the new off-shore container terminal at the Mumbai Port for Gammon Infrastructure Projects Ltd who, with their JV partners Dragados of Spain, were awarded the project on a BOT basis by the Mumbai Port Trust. The Container handling equipment will be acquired by the Joint Venture. |

Following the acceptance of HOWE’s Detailed Project Report on the development of deeper berths outside of the existing Indira Dock Basin’s harbour side walls, the Mumbai Port Trust have entrusted HOWE with the detailed engineering of the civil, mechanical and electrical works. This technically challenging project on completion will allow the port to handle about 7 mtpa of unitised, break-bulk and bagged cargo on 4 berths, initially in up to 40,000 DWT ships (11.3m draft) but ships of 100,000 DWT maximum in the future . |
